The Process
King’s Peak was a two week project, designed as part of a GUI course in CIID. It’s a guide app for a fictional mountain. We came up with the idea, made some sketches and wireframes and tested a few potential users. The final deliverable consists of a polished UI with motion design.
The Concept
King’s Peak is a supportive application that guides you through your whole hiking trip – from planning and finding the right trail to safely getting you back home. The Gallery provides you with pictures of views and important information about the trail for you to plan accordingly.
Once you reached the starting point of your hike the application will track your location and show your progress over time, as well as future weather conditions. The map also at any time allows you to get an overview of useful spots, such as fresh water sources or simply viewpoints to enjoy. Should you find anything irregular you have the opportunity to tag it with a picture and description to warn the park rangers as well as other hikers.
King`s Peak will notify you if there should be any dramatic weather changes that could impact your hike, to make sure you stay safe and dry and will keep your hike a memorable experience.
